store pickup only and 125 miles one way for me...pass :)
Only 65 miles one way for me.

Maybe Walmart, Napa, or other auto parts stores might work best for you.

KC, I actually looked at that battery (the Dura-Cell $175 one).

The problem I have is that it would be very difficult to get at the cells to add water without spilling all over, as the battery's located partway under the instrument panel.

Even removing the battery is a bit of a pain: two plastic panels beneath the instrument panel need to be removed first. I really wanted to avoid having to ever add water, it's bad enough with my bikes! I decided early on that a standard flooded L-A battery was out.

Yes, there were a number of good changes, I think, between the 2300 and 2400 series -- Number one to me was the fact that the instrument panel came with a one-piece clear plastic cover -- easy to swipe snow off with a gloved hand. Mine has separate little gauges with lots of narrow spaces, hard to clear off when blowing snow.

Another improvement was that MF apparently finally made the ground cable long enough with the 2400s that it didn't just break off after 2-3 years' worth of vibration, and even the mickey-mouse lights got some protection. (I eventually moved mine to the inside of the ROPS.)

My late 2300-series (2007) did get a hydraulic filter guard, at least; earlier 2300s didn't even have that. I suspect that 2400 headlights were also an improvement over what I have, which are really pretty minimal.

As far as the battery, that's another improvement -- I see where even Kubota BX-series tractors use a larger, easy-to-find automotive battery, probably easier to remove, too.

Here's the "hole" where my small battery sits, just behind the radiator screen and under the top edge of the instrument panel:

looks like same setup as my 2400 (hood latches and rad/screen placement are at least) but I can easily remove battery. must be difference in the shape of the dash cowling helping me.
my rops lights are external with guards, odd now new 1725m does not have the guards..
