Mowed the lawn today.... lost a clip and pin for a guide wheel on the mower deck. With as difficult as that clip is to adjust I'm surprised that it could be pulled out by something. Found that a sheer pin for my blower PTO makes a suitable temporary replacement. Now I guess I'm off to order some pins and clips.

$%^* $25 shipping on $10 parts, I guess that shear pin will last a while longer.

1000 x24 ft of private road roughed up with box blade, sod on ditch edges removed for drainage with box blade, crown put back in road and road smoothed with 7ft grader blade.
only 400 feet to go, easy section though as downhill slope and no need to worry about sod on edges holding water.
usuallly do this in spring but so much rain this year needed to be done now before winter hits. and since mornings are already in the low to mid 40's thats creeping up on me fast.

least you did not lose the axle and wheel, they are sold separately.
front axle assy (no pins/bushings/washers/wheel) is 165$ and wheel itself it 140$.
rear axle (again so washer/spacers) is only 115$. and...of course...140$ for the wheel.

I can see axle stuff costing but...the wheel???

It isn't so much the cost of the parts as it is the cost of shipping. Even if I bought extras I'd still be paying more for shipping than the parts. I'll just wait until I have more stuff I need to get. The sheer pin is working well and I doubt I need to worry about loosing it. Who knows, I may just opt to replace them all with shear pins.

been keeping eye on tractor hours cause TECHNICALLY its due a full hydro service at 600 hours.
friday morning started tractor, 570 and some change on it.
just shut it off and gave up for the weekend 45 minutes ago. 606 hours.

edit: oh yeah, I normally use 1.5 gallons of fuel every 10 days. 6 gallons since I fired it up yesterday morning. that is 6 gallons since 6am 9-22-2023 until now 1400 9-23-2023.

Oh yeah I lost one of those too before while mowing around tall weeds, and received the surprise reaction on here that I did, eg, "how, they're so hard to take off by hand". Happens.

box blade to rough it up then grader blade to crown and smooth it, then rolled with 550lb roller.
