I put the forks to some use, did some hedge maintenance on the hedges bordering our property out front, pulled all the dead branches. Gonna make for a good fire.

Was REAL glad to have the ROPS and seatbelt this afternoon! Photo taken just after I started to winch it up. Massey Ferguson GC 1723E.

Oh wow, did you get hurt at all?

Thanks for asking. A BIG hurt to the ego, but physically just a small bruise on the left knee where it got wedged under the steering wheel. It was a slow-motion roll, so I had time to react and pull my body to the right, away from the ground that we landed on.

Should have said that it was the GC 1723EB model, and hence had the taller and wider ROPS.

BTW, her nickname is "Fergie, my red-headed mistress". I needed an appropriate way to distinguish the notebook with parts of the service manual, etc. in it. I chose to slide this photo into the clear sleeve of the front cover.

Oh hey, I think I'll set that as my avatar.

As long as I'm fessin' up to stupid things I have done, a couple of weeks ago I buried Fergie about 25 feet from where I rolled her today. I should note that we don't have any soil here, only 2 four-letter words: "clay" and "rock". Just a couple of miles south of us is where the last glacier ended, and there is a large gravel pit there.

Fortunately, I had the backhoe on that time, so using the hydraulics of the backhoe, stabilizers, and loader, was able to raise her enough to place boards underneath, rinse and repeat.

I named mine Missy. Missy Massey if you're nasty! And my Bradley mower goes by Brad.

Mine is Ellie after Elinor the cow. She eats the grass.
My little red beast is used mostly for cutting the lawns around the homestead, aboot 2 acres.
I have Arnie my loader MF563 that lifts heavy things and Oliver my MF563 general purpose guy.

Took off the FEL.

Straightened the kick stand on the new to me woods tiller. Checked it all out, greased. Checked and adjusted the PTO clutch, what a job that is. Then since it was all hooked up I tilled the garden for the first time. 30 minutes to do my 50x100' garden instead of 12 hours walking behind my troy built. I was planning to get the mower deck ready today but decided to play with my new toy since it was all hooked up and ready to go.

Side note, it's no wonder the kick stand was bent, brand new lock pin rattled right out while I was tilling. It's buried somewhere in the garden. Going to need to find a better way to hold that up.

I helped my neighbor/vet out today, dethatched her lawn (and found a bunch of crap in it too, like a chainsaw chain). Then, hooked up hoe, just before the rain came in.

And I finally removed, serviced & put away the blower, then moved everything around in the garage to get out and mount the MMM. And took a short ride on my 750 Virago!

Time for another season....
