I was so delighted when in early December we had cold weather with a good bit of snow. The pond was getting frozen over real nice and the ground was solid. Fast forward to January and it was 50* here today, supposed to be 60* on Friday! The annual muddy season is 2 months early. I was hoping to have been on the tractor playing in the snow. Is it the dreaded "Global Warming"?

No, it's my fault. I bought a new 60" Snowblower this year/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I haven't even been able to fully test it out yet! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Enjoy the mild temps while they are here ... Mother Nature will make sure you get the proper number of cold Winter days.

So. . . You and your new snowblower are the cause of our mild (so far) winter?

How can I contribute to the "pay for the snowblower fund"?

I see it as a small price to pay to keep my fuel bill in check.

I always thought the weather revolved around me. For instance; I planted grass by hand when we moved into my house 28 years ago. The result was the worst drought on record in our area. It happened again when I planted a fig tree, pear tree, and did a bunch of minor planting for the wife. The drought following that was so bad the lakes dried up to the point we could drive where we used to catch Crappie. Then I really tested the weather Gods when I dug the ditches for my foundation on the new house. I did that a week or so before Thanksgiving. It started raining before I finished up and didn't stop until six inches had fallen. I finally put concrete in the trenches today, which by the way was in the seventies. I worked in shirtsleeves most of the day.

I'm sure we'll get enough winter to be sick of it when Spring finally gets here.

How about a new sander/salter ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

On a second thought, if I do that, it might not snow for years /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Wait a minute GUYS, WE ought to think about this a minute...

If we plan to strategically purchase $$$ implements and large ticket items like swimming pools or building sheds, barns,etc.... This would have to be timed at select intervals, A certain group of do it yourselfers might just be able.... Get where I'm going with this???

WE CAN CONTROL THE WEATHER

NOT!!! a chance /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

On my way home from work last night, there were hundreds of Geese flying NORTH.
I wonder what they know that we don't....

Geese and other migratory birds will fly back north a bit to get past a warm spell. Don't worry folks, it ain't global warming. But if it is, I'm moving to ARGENTINA!!!
