I'm thinking, I'm thinking!
Tractor
LS MT125 TLBM
I thought I wanted a PHD, but I'm not sure I have the ongoing need.

I can see uses for pallet forks, but not sure if I want a dedicated set or FEL addons.

I probably need some sort of back blade, but not necessarily a box blade.

Thing is, most of the listings I find are for larger machines. Neighbor's got some stuff, but the pins and what not are all too wide.

With no truck, I don't need a trailer.

Boom pole? Hmmmm.... I've seen some posts about people using them to lift trusses into place and I'll probably need to rebuild my shed in the next couple of years.

It certainly takes a lot of thought and consideration in deciding your implement needs. Sit down and make a list of your future plans and determine what will be needed the most and will provide the most bang for your buck. It is to easy to buy a lot of things that will mostly sit unused.

Forks are always handy and a back blade will probably be more useful than a box blade. Only you can decide what you really need.

I wouldn't be without SSQA pallet forks. Many more uses than just moving pallets. Get those - not the over-the-bucket type.

Our local clist usually has lots of 5' implements - probably most common size to find used bush hog, mower, tiller, box blade, etc. around here.

Why do people have a boom pole and FEL? Can't you lift everything with the loader that the pole could (and lift it higher)? I never really thought about it - just assumed boom poles were for tractors w/o loaders.

I'm not interested in 'SS' anything.

The uses I've seen for boom poles raising trusses attach to the FEL to greatly extend the reach upwards, enough to get over an 8-10 wall.

I built a jib for our 12 ton zoom boom, to erect an 80 foot radio tower in one go. Jibs are great for reach, when loads are light. They are however, more clumsy than a crane.

Make a list of all the attachments you think you want. Write beside what they can be used for. Put in order of which one you want and could use the most. Starting at top, buy until you run out of money.

Wish List: Pallet forks, snow plow, grapple bucket, stump grinder, wood chipper, backhoe, digging teeth, log splitter, dump trailer, back blade, snow blower, subsoiler or ripper, 3pt skidder... I think thats it. Give me a few minutes and I'm sure I can think of more!

What I currently have: Bucket, box blade, rototiller, yard rake, rotary mower, SSQA hitch receiver (great for moving trailers, crane, log grapple, etc).

Chipper and/or grinder would be nice, but likely far out of the budget.

The rest I either have, don't need or already listed above. Made my own trailer mover.

use my pallet forks nearly as much as my bucket - moving lumber and wood, portable work bench, put stuff on pallets (like implements) so I an move them to mow, keeps them off the dirt.

post hole auger..got the big job done. not sure how much it will get used.

box blade has been used A LOT.
Got a back blade..using it a lot too.

Disks - got a specific job, only 1/2 done, also used for a garden.

Brush hog, most used implement, main reason we got the tractor
Still wanted...a plow maybe (2 bottom I think), york rake, harrow drag of some kind. And a second bucket with teeth. I need the smooth one too.

Harrow/Drag is a possibility, but that might be something I make with chainlink fence and timbers.

A rake would be interesting, but my rock is 3" or less, so the tines would have to be close enough to grab those.

MT125 isn't SSQA bucket? ewww....I thought they were same as XJ.

I must be confused on what a boom pole is then....I thought those were the L-shaped pole that went on your 3pt with a pulley or hook at the end. Kind of like a cherry picker engine hoist.

Humans tend to be obsessive! I know a guy who can't stop buying a particular (high Quality) brand of tools. That Andrew Camarata (on Youtube) can't seem to stop buying equipment either. Buys a Yanmar Mini-ex, same as he has, then blows a hose, is fixing it, but you suddenly see him driving up (again) and has yet another bigger hoe, that he just had to buy from a guy down the road. I know another guy just like that.

Sometimes less is more and the law of deminishing returns ALWAYS applies! Just how many batteries, tires, pumps, hoses and rads does a guy really want to own?

No SS at either end. Pin-on only.

Pole may be the same concept but modified for front use instead of rear. There are a few threads about shop/shed builds that mention them.

As you have found out, most used attachments are for larger tractors usually Cat 1, 2, or 3. Your MT125 probably requires Cat 0 attachments. Used Cat 0 attachments are pretty scarce unless you buy new. If not in a hurry, they do occassionally come up for sale. I've seen them on CL from time to time. Without a truck or trailer to pick up attachments you are at the mercy of the seller to deliver unless you can borrow a truck. For QA forks look for the lightest pair for your tractor due to you lift capacity. Everything Attachments has pin on to QA adpters so you may want to contact them. Best of luck and keep looking.

add truck and trailer to your wish list, how could you operate your farm without those??..

I made a drag with chain link and a fence post..nothing I could do would make it drag straight. And I tried everything. evfen different surfaces. flipping it over, etc. frustrating. shelved it for now.

The rake can possibly do the same thing - i'm thinking of it for dirt smoothing, horse riding arena grooming (harrow, fence drag..) and use in the pasture in the spring to break up the horse manure that accumulates over the winter.
