what does your electricity cost?

I think we're paying about .06 per kwh now with our co-op. Even when running the air we pay more in fees than we do for the actual electricity. Our bill was about 60$ last month. About 25$ for electricity and 35$ in fees and taxes. We use less than 500 kwh per month.

DL, I'm glad to see your response here (and you know why!). I just reviewed the bill I got yesterday and the TOTAL per kW price after all fees, taxes, etc is $0.18. That ties the highest US rate posted in this thread; matched by a guy in NH.
My annual electric bill up here is similar to yours for a similar sized house.
Except my heat and domestic hot water are oil fired, and we cook with propane.
I'm anxiously awaiting a move South.

Rick, come on down, man! I have two neighbors here at my place in Columbia County, GA from New York! They love it! Me? I'm a born and bred non-sugar coated grits eatin' Georgian. But welcome y'all boys here! A great place right across road from me with 10 acres is for sale now. Heheheeee, I ain't nary real estate agent.

Anyway, my bill on 1,900 sq ft house, total electric averages about $125.00 per month, and we keep it warm in winter and cool in summer.

I don't recall what the rate is here in NH from PSNH. I do know that when it's just my wife and I at home, we pay about $80 a month. Heaven help us the months the boys were at home. I swear they still haven't learned to turn things off. Bills always $120 a month with them.

Hold on, Dr, you're just talking basic electricity right? No a/c way up there in NH? What ye use for heat? For mine, I'm talking everything, heat, cool, all of it.

Down here in Altha Fl our bill is not as high as some. Last month we used 1669 KWH [33 days]. Our bill before taxes, $159.85. After taxes, $212.61. $6.44 per day. $0.13 per KWH. I have always heard your hot water heater is 15% of the bill. A recent study shows that DVR's are about 12% now. Who would have known.

We are on what used to be called REA. Now it is West Florida Electric Cooperative Association, Inc.

Your water heater is a cold water heater. It makes hot water by heating cold water.

Paying about 8 cents to my co-op here. Who can afford to live in CA?

I'm in middle northern part of Ohio, with 2 places. City Place is deregulated and we can shop for power supplier. We changed recently and got a pretty good rate at 0.052cents/KW for next 2 years by switching back 2 times as each company fought for our service fees. We also pay as much in Taxes & Fees as we do for energy. At the Farm it is a CO-OP and 4 or 5 years ago the co-op voted to not join the deregulation mandates from the state. that was a mistake I can see now as I'm stuck paying 0.1102cents/kw and fees are 1.5times that of the city house. My farm bill is about the same as the city bill but no one lives at the farm & I only stop there a few days a week to get mail and work at the place. I actually pay almost 2x in fees that Pay in KW usage there. :(
