This was a one-time hit.

I have a North-facing window and get the kind of traffic/hits Oosik does. I hear a clunk every other week or so, but just never seem to be looking at the right instant to see which specie just 'hit'. I've found only one dead tweety below the window (or on the deck just to the right w/sliding door) in >18 yrs here.

What the birds see flying South toward the house ~ 2:30 EDT today May 4, '19.

Wagtail, here in MI at ~ 43rd parallel, Robins will raise 2-3 clutches/year, minus a few cowbirds that 'get over on' starlings and obviously warblers, the most musical and cuckhold of songbirds in our area code.

531EA133-C6C3-44CD-BE24-2121C9912AE9.jpegAround here they aint to afraid of fake owls. I put one up and as you can see a woodpecker decided that it would make a great home.
I took it down after the season and admitted defeat. When we were building our house the robins were trying to build in it every day.
A fake inflatable rattlesnake would keep them out only if I moved its location every day.

At our shop we have pigeons. At one point last fall we had three "imprints" like you show on one window. Granted, it's a big window - 10'w x 6'h.

My west facing windows get inviting to some of the birds around here for some reason . . . windows win (3/pane) . . .

We use to place plastic grocery bags over our truck mirrors to keep the cardinals off. I didnt mind them beating their brains out on the mirror but I did mind all the bird crap on the truck.

I do the same thing with old t-shirts seeing as plastic bags are becoming a 'thing of the past'. A pair of old socks worked for the motorcycle.

Owl statues or rubber snakes get old fast with the birds; they figure it out quick-smart.

As observed by others, the window strikes are predominately on the East facing with an occasional one on the West. North (my facing the trajectory of the sun) is a rare thing indeed and no strikes to the East.

What about one of those owl or hawk decoys? They look much better!

Just get a cat. While i don't have one, I understand they are quite effective at killing birds and they are available just about everywhere...for free.
You could get a breeding pair! Then you could distribute this effective Robin -method to your friends and neighbors.
I suspect your bird problem will be solved in a few days after you adopt your new pest control cat.
Hope this helps.

We have a cat (indoor only - so that may be a problem...).

We also "have" two barn cats from the previous owner. He "gave" them to the neighbor 200 yard away, so they are always around. We have lots of birds in spite of it.

I'm really curious of anyone has tried those UV decals (or similar) I mentioned in the OP, and if so - how effective they were.

Is this a seasonal Spring Mating Season occurrence or a constant thing for as long as your N.A. robins (a type of thrush) are around?

It's not a problem with my robins (flame or scarlet), but the male fairy wrens will peck themselves stupid on the side mirrors of my ute... especially the driver's side mirror! Anything reflective that they think is another male challenging them.
Cardinals do that with my truck mirror.

 . . . that, would be a hoot!

We have cats and we still have birds run into our windows, but by accident. I just noticed a spot of bird feathers on one of our windows where a bird slammed into it. The cats are always dragging something up to the house. I always assumed they caught the birds but maybe some of them are birds that hit the windows and either got killed or knocked senseless.

Cool - would love an update. The spikes are working, but ugly.
After one week there are not any marks on the windows. We used three different color Bic markers purchased at Staples.

We also blocked the nesting area so the bird may have departed anyway, but it seems to work. And I can barely see it.
