Yes, I think the 1460 is a perfect match for most skid steer attachments, both weight and hydraulic flow/pressure.
One thing about my 1430 when I picked it up at Tazewell, It could not spin the tires in the dirt, can yours? I complained and they found a missing check ball in the draft control. Now it can spin as much as the op wants. I was more impressed with the engine not noticing the load of climbing the hill on the 1460.

Do you mean spinning the tires when pushing against something? Yes, my tires will spin that way. It’s interesting you say about that check ball in the draft control. I have to turn the draft on only when I am moving or the oil goes somewhere and my wheel motors won’t drive. So I learned to flip the switch on only when I’m moving and turn off the draft before I come to a stop. I figured that probably wasn’t normal ,but I learned to work with it.

my friend was helping me out with his skid loader the other day. we went and rented a jackhammer attachment, but it was too abusive for his skid loader. it kept making the hydraulics leak oil.

Sounds similar to mine. I never left Tazewell with it. I figured I would work it for awhile and check for leaks before I brought it home. It wouldn't climb up the pile of process they have to play with, so the big shots got involved and figured out about the missing check ball. I never tried to switch on the draft.
So, with your draft off, and you push against something you can spin the tires?

Yeah, the tires spin fine on mine. Here recently I just replaced the fuel shut off solenoid that went bad. The machine is four years old with almost 500 hours.

Did the 1460 have any issues when you were testing it out down at Tazewell?

At the factory, the lift capacity seemed low when I filled the bucket heaping and it was sluggish when raising. Terry said it had to wear in. I am not totally sure yet. I was unloading a generator that I loaded offsite with the 1430 and a towing adapter (basically no attachment weight). The 1460 had the grapple bucket, which is heavy and it seemed to struggle, lifting the generator up about 5'. The machine was not warmed up. Later that day I did a test lift with a 2,100 lb weight and it performed as advertised. Jury is still out if it operates correctly when cold. Or maybe it is wearing in.

It also has a few minor leaks in the hydraulics. I have tighten up a few fittings and will keep an eye out.
One leak is at the mounting gasket between the tram and hyd pumps. Very minor if it is just a gasket and not some high pressure seal in the tram. It is leaving drops in the tub. Looks like the most difficult part will be moving the fuel tank out of the way, then just 2 bolts, clean and reassemble.

That gasket there usually seals up with time from what Terry told me. I had that issue on the 425 I had years ago. I think maybe this 1430 I have leaked a small amount when I first got it at that same spot.

Haha! Yeah, I know what your saying. On this 1430 I have, the leak issue was worth the wheel motors when I bought it. Every single wheel motor leaked but then sealed up. The one front wheel motor, every once in a while will seep a little bit of oil out.

Ha, mine are the same way. But they seem to only leak in cold weather. Terry said I can send them back, but considering all the labor the leak seldom even goes to the tire.
