I've done two or three 80s at a time. It isn't too bad, just have to be careful with the shovel while mixing. And make sure you rinse thoroughly when done, before it begins to harden. Rinsing is a lot easier than chipping and scraping.

Left front axle leak mentioned some time back is getting worse. Streak of axle oil was evident on tire yesterday when I drove out of shed. Haven't been able to arrange getting it to the dealer yet.

Probably a seal. How much trouble is it to replace? Special tools required?

What are you running for fluid in your front axle? 80W90?

It's an hard job. The bearings are usually a press fit and might be a bit hard take out if you don't have some pullers available.

Not sure exactly how LS has their front axles made but you may found a big snap ring that may put out a bit of a fight.

Could it be something as stupid as bolt(s) 6 or 7? I'm not sure if that cavity is oil filled or not though given the location of oil seal 9.

Couple pages further on is this diagram that shows another oil seal (2) which means that cavity must be filled:

It's 25 and windy, so I won't be out there today pulling a wheel to inspect further.

Yeah, that. Took a quick look this morning without jacking it up or pulling the wheel. Can't really pick out the lake point yet. I'll just add some fluid and go with it for a few days until I can figure out the next step.

Yes, the best step is to figure out exactly where it's leaking. If it's just the hub shaft seal (#2 on the 2nd picture) or it's actually the knuckle seal (#9 on 1st picture).

If you're interested on getting a closer look, before deciding tackle the job or not, there is this video describing the entire project. It's for a Branson but the axle pretty dang similar to your LS.

No BS, ads or other non sense. Just straight to the point, explaining what needs to be done: 4x4 Branson 24 Tractor - Front Spindle Seals - YouTube
