What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Dunno. Just noticed I was going through fuel faster the last couple of tanks, but attributed it to the tasks like mowing requiring PTO RPMs.

Tomorrow I have to play with 240AC for a while and wait for utility and inspector.

Suggest .. you might spray area with a degreaser like Simple Green pro HD, wash it off with pressure washer or hose, tighten clamps, etc., then add the paper towels to find leak .. if one still exists.

My guess is the top hose, tighten the clamp.... Can you see any bubbling when it is running? It could be the seal around the cap, are the screws tight?

I can't see much of anything with the side panel on. I need to figure out how to get it off. I see the two bolts on the top, but are there any below or interlocking tabs that mean something else has to come off first?

Yes, there are tabs going to the dash housing, and there are some down at the front bottom. The most difficult part is removing the 4 bolts holding the hood on(yes, the hood has to come off in order to take off the side panels) the side panel, headlights, and grill are all taken off as one unit. The whole process only takes about 10-15 minutes.

I cannot remember for sure, but I think there are 2 bolts on each side that mount the sides to the front.... I have a vague memory of taking off one side that way....

OK, so why would this happen in 2 years and 270 hours? Kimchee rubber?

Tightened too tight by the looks of it, just bulged / squished the rubber until it cracked. At least it was a simple fix....

When I checked this morning, it was actively leaking within five minutes of the engine running at idle. Afterwards I ran it for ten minutes at idle and found no signs of leak. Then moved for a half hour and still dry.

That is why you have to take the whole assembly off / out of the way.

Yes, it is the manual primer / air release.

Yeah, the side panels can be a real B.... I put them back together with 3 or 4 per side, towards the very top and the bottom.... where I could get to them.
It never fell apart or cracked for about 100 hrs.... overkill?
