What did you buy this week?

Our daughter usually comes home for 3 weeks or so at a time and flying is cheaper and takes way less time, but when she flies we don't have anything for her to drive when she is home. I decided to buy a cheap car to have around as a spare for her when she comes home. I found this '05 Acura TL in great shape for a steal.
We have a second home that is about 7 hours drive (or 10 hours flight, so we drive) away.

Since we only ever take one vehicle, we are "stuck" there with one vehicle, and often the wife and I want to go different directions. So we recently got an old favorite of my wife's for her when we're there. If they hadn't discontinued them she would probably still be driving a new one.

This is a 2008 Honda Element SC - FWD, not AWD, but it lives in South Jersey so not an issue. Lived in FL for the first 15 years of its life and had 117k when we bought it. Even I like (and willingly drive) it...

Really. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Cremate me and scatter the dust anywhere. Although I was shocked to find that cremation is not that much less expensive than burial. I guess I should check and see if self cremation is an option.
Get a super large pellet stove with rotisserie….not

Dont know if i want to start a new thread, but thoughts and opinions on a pellet smoker? At first everyone was all about them, and now that they have come down into the $450-550.price range, it seems to be more mixed reviews. Not a lot of smoke flavor, the pellet feeders can be a hassle in humidity, ect.

Part of my hesitation; we have a combo, gas/charcoal/off-set smoker/side gas stove burner; and we also have a flat top gas grill. I dont see the pellet grill-smoker replacing the conveyance of the gas grill, isnt suited for the flat top, and may or may not replace the off set smoker. I dont really want 3 separate grills either. I would kinda say heat control for slow cooks would be the main goal, but ive also seen where the pellet grills get upto grill temp pretty fast too?

I have a yoder 640 competition smoker… they will need to pry it out of my cold, dead fingers. Just smoked a fantastic sirloin steak tonight. My smoker also sears it at 500° after smoking.

Dewalt 3 in 1 portable power pack. Comes with a 5AH battery. Will charge 12V batteries at 4 amps, with auto shutoff. Plan is to keep my trailer batteries topped off. They are not parked close to power for a battery minder. I have plenty of Dewalt 20V batteries, an extra 5AH doesn't hurt. Will also travel with me on road trips.

Why is it the most practical vehicles get cancelled?
Easy in and out.
No stupid carpets to collect grit, dirt gravel.
EZ parking, good ride... I really liked mine until it was stolen.
