Seals and gland nut for the #2 Rhino tractors Koyker FEL cylinders.

I forgot just how much fun (not) stubborn gland nuts can be when they have been untouched and out in the weather long term.

Literally ruined one of them -but at least it is loose now and new ones fully loaded are available.

Glad you found replacements.
Ive had luck with stubborn gland nuts by heating the outside of the tube and hitting it around its circumference with a good sized brass hammer. Usually spraying a penetrant in between heating and hammering.

I got this today. Vevor top link. Mine the pipe got damaged and I got tired of fooling with it. I'll keep mine for a spare. I removed that safety catch on it and didn't use hoses or banjo hardware because my hoses connected to it fine. $142 from Walmart online.

Yes Glad Koyker still makes and sells OEM parts

Yep, I did the peening, and heating, and PB Blaster more than once, cheater tube on the large crescent and also pipe wrench. The only thing that I really had luck with to start them turning was an air hammer to get that first 1/4" of turn. Started by marking an alignment line so I could tell when things were finally starting to turn.

The Gland nuts Koyker uses for some reason are Aluminum... and they are definitely not as tough as steel units.

The other three were not easy but doable without major damage and turning into a 1/2 day nightmare.

Here is a picture of the Gland nut after removal from the cylinder, No damage to the rod, I knew things were likely to get rough so I wrapped the an old bicycle tire inner tube around the rod and taped it as well.

Darn straight. Plenty of anti-seize applied.
I alignment marked the other tractors FEL cylinders years ago on reassembly and went light on the gland nut torque Nothing has ever moved.

Id look into whether GA sold them without restrictions.
Whats a little smuggling between friends.
Yep Georgia is a no questions asked state regarding grass carp. (Sterilized) I ordered 20 a couple years ago through the local hardware store. 12” fish $10 each. The fish truck comes through a couple times a year for pickup in the store parking lot.

Did you replace that gland nut?
Waiting to receive Gland nut and seal kits from AG parts Direct.

I did chuck the Gland nut up in the Lathe and cleaned it up quite a bit just in case, but will be installing the new parts when they arrive.
