I bought a new Skilsaw 77 worm drive circular saw. It’s magnesium, so lighter than the older aluminum model 77. It’s an impressive looking saw with all of the angle options and the construction is all metal. I’m going to try it out this weekend. If it works as good as it is constructed, I doubt if I’ll ever need to replace it.

Woodstock progress hybrid woodstove installed yesterday. Finished 3 break in fires through it before bed and should be able to heat it up to the higher range today

Radio in a tractor is like a radio on a motorcycle, to me. Both are out-of place. I'm sure if I had a cab, and was doing ag work for hours, it'd be different. On a bike? nope - never...

The gear drive on the 77s will cut lumber that will stall other saws. The start up torque is so much more that you have to be careful about starting your cut so it starts where you intend instead of twisting off to the side.

On the skil77, the magnesium (contractor) models have metal internal gearing. The cheaper homeowner models have plastic gears.
