I think the 800 series were followers of the 8N series. My dad had an 861 in the mid to late 50s IIRC, traded in his 8N on it. The 861 had live PTO but not sure about the 801.
Soundguy will surely chime in soon on this, he is the Ford expert.
the NAA was the followup to the 8n, after the NAA then came the hundred series.. 600, 700, 800, 900. middle digit denotes tranny options. 4,5,6
4 = 4spd, non live pto
5=5spd, non live pto
6=5 spd, live pto.
other numbers available depending on options.. etc.
An '801' is a series after the '00' series.
here are the year model line ups.
( model year )

42-47 2n
48-52 8n
52-54 naa

series numbers have no tranny identifier. IE.. 801 Model numbers have a tranny identifier IE.. 841 ( an 801 which is a 172ci gas, diesel ( post 58 ) or LPG engine with a 4 spd non live tranny, made 58-62
Collectively, the 55-62 models are called hundred series or broken down to subgroup as hundred and '01 ' series.
