So unfortunately I don’t have the money for all the attachments I want so I need to sort the most useful, figured I would buy one a year till I have a good line up of attachments.

Tractor: Mahindra 5555 (55hp 8,000lb 4x4)

Attachments: Bush Hog BH17 (7ft rotary cutter), EA 78 extreme duty box blade, 6ft 3pt Ford rear blade (scrape blade), pallet forks (don’t like design or fork length), and bucket.

Property is 3 acres of cleared land I raise cattle on and feed round bales. I do custom bush hogging, driveway maintenance and chores on family & friends lands. 32 acre hunting property etc.

This year im leaning towards buying a wicked toothbar for the bucket, bucket tamers for snow removal (instead of rear blade) and severe duty 7ft landscape rake (tired of picking up sticks in the pasture and fence line), also picturing rake to replace what I use the scrape blade for.

I don’t like the design of the pallet forks that came with current tractor I have, I also want longer tines/forks 48”. I came really close to selling these and buying a design I like better but instead will prob buy an attachment I could use more.

I will need a post hole digger next spring but will only be digging less than 10 holes so I’ll prob rent one.

What’s your go to attachment? What attachment not on my list you couldn’t live without? Maybe I’ll have more use for it than a rake. Pasture maintenance attachments?

Not to sure you will be happy trying to rake sticks with the rake. But maybe I don't know who to use one property. For sticks I think a pine needle rake might be better but that is a one trick pony and I do not have enough sticks to justify it.

I use a rake for driveway maintenance and to rough up areas I want to over seed.

For the money, a landscape rake really is hard to beat for versatility. Might suggest one with trailing wheels. Better for grading.

How big are these "sticks"? Sounds like your not making hay so why don't you pick up the big one's and just bush hog the rest? Even with a landscape rake you'll break them up and maybe make them into a pile- that you still need to pick up. Can't see you being able dragging them very far without screwing up your pasture.
I've been somewhat absent here for a while (for no particular reason) and John the last thing I remember reading of yours was you selling your Deere and getting your financial act together. Cheers and respect to you for that brother. Personally imho, a rake has very limited purpose other than "touching up" a dirt road. You sound like you've gotten things under control and  for realizing that renting a phd made much more sense than buying for a handful of holes. Rent, borrow a rake and see if it does what you want, I'd be surprised. Some jobs are best done the old fashioned way, manually.

I designed and built this rake for my little steiner, for that express purpose. If I fell a tree on a lawn, I can gather up the branches. Then push them into another bucket. The tines are floating on bushings on a rod to make the teeth less agressive on uneven (when isn't it) ground. Can also be arrested to be more agressive.

my rake is my goto attachment. mostly road maintenance and cleanup. hardly use my ratchet rake tooth bar for the front bucket., tough to get rid of as well. box blade went away a couple years ago. hardly use a post hole digger but still keep it around. got rid of the brush cutter and replaced with a flail mower. excavator with bucket assortment, rake for everything else.

Now that's a horse of a different color  Good idea.

My main attachments are the bush hog during growing season and chipper/shredder for fall/winter. Used to use the shredder for about 100 bags of leaves collected every fall. That source has dried up. Still have plenty of tree limbs and stuff to do in cool season.

Use a back blade to aid the FEL for snow removal.

Used to use a carryall with surround to make like a little pen on it for hauling mulch down to the big garden. Had to give up that garden and hardly ever use the carryall now.

Your tractor is the ideal weight to utilize a $400 clamp on Bucket Spade. A toothbar is not very useful for digging on a wide bucket.

Consider a $400 Ratchet Rake bucket attachment for tearing out brush during your commercial mowing jobs. I almost always have Ratchet Rake attachment on my bucket when mowing Florida jungle. It is much easier to mulch vegetation with a Rotary Cutter when vegetation is flat on the ground.

Ratchet Rake may serve for corralling sticks on three acres. Good for minor grading.

A toothbar is quite useful for digging with the loader, it's why all excavator digging buckets have teeth :) . I have a rear blade but it's my least used implement here in Central Texas.
