What Attachment Scares You The Most?

My old man would be the scariest thing in the operators position on anything with a motor. He could not back up without hitting something. He took the guards off everything. You really needed to be paying attention if he was the operator.
ROPS? My MF and 2 of my 3 Cubs do not have them. My Grandfather rolled one of the Cubs over mowing a hillside.

By far, the scariest implement I own is an offset articulating flail:

It will destroy pretty much anything it touches. Gives me the willies just looking at it.

The first year I owned it, I was clearing brush alongside the road and accidentally hit a mailbox on a 4X4 post. It was hidden in the brush and difficult to see from the cab. The biggest piece it left was the size of a hockey puck.

I've since learned to walk the route I'm cutting first.

That spiral splitter terrifies me just thinking about it.
And the PTO powered Post Hole Drill is a close second.

However , for fatalities, the 3pt mounted back hoe led the list of farm accidents for so many years that tractor dealers used to have signs on the wall warning about them.

Regardless of the danger, our family had one and used that 3pt PTO-driven BH for years without incident...and then one day it almost got me. Missed by an inch... I had done the classic mistake which was forgetting to disengage the tractor draft control. Climbed aboard, started the hoe, which then promptly tried to fold the operating levers back into the seat.... trapping the operator. Yes, the forgetful person was myself. It only pinned the tail of my shirt as I bailed off sideways. Too many were less lucky..

But I can learn, and what I learned was to sell that BH for scrap that very day.

Tangled up in PTO. Our neighbor was trying to clear out a baler when his shirtsleeve got caught in the PTO and sucked him in. He was lucky because it stripped him naked. He was black and blue on every inch of his body.

Never work around a rotating PTO.

Needn't be pto powered to get ya. A few years back a local farmer was pushing over a tree. The top of the tree broke off falling on him. Pinned his upper body against the fender, and his head against the tire tread. When his son found him engine was running and the tires were still spinning. Gruesome sight.

Be careful out there.

We're going back 60 years.
Neighbor behind the parents farm was having about 40 acres of forest pulled.
At that time there still were the remains of large Elm trees. They were huge.
The large bulldozer had a steal cage and a sheet of metal across the top.
Pushing one of the Elms a large branch broke off (At least 2.5 feet across) and came down like a falling arrow right onto the driver's seat..
There wasn't much of the operator left that wasn't mush.
As a little fella it freaked me out for a long time.

That buzz saw video is somewhat terrifying. gotta be situationally aware the whole time with that one.

Ditto on the flail mower. You get all of the risks of a brush hog, plus the added benefit? of the imbalance caused by the side shift and rotation.

That said, it is much more useful for me than a brush hog and cost about the same.

Just a random thought. The way a whole lot of these inbred imbeciles drive around here on the county roads - glad my two nearest neighbors are dedicated ranchers.

It's come close a couple times. All I said - "don't even ask". City folk wanting to drive my tractor or ATV. Now - that would be scary.

The one that scares me the worst is the one I buy and hope to get my investment back out of it
