Welded cast parts on sickle with a MIG!

Thats a simple option,,,,if this one doesn't hold. I dont have much faith in welding cast iron, especially without preheat (or ceremony). Thanks for that idea!

Now thinkin' I should test that new hook point with a hammer before facing trouble out in the field.

Hoping to (someday) abandon this mechanism and use a hydraulic lift cylinder.
