Weird squeaking from engine

So I have a 04 farmpro tractor. As of late I hear this high pitched squeak as it runs. I have absolutely no idea where it could be coming from. It's driving me nuts since I can't pin point it's location. Any help appreciated

Interesting. I had the same issue with my TY395 three cylinder diesel. Mine was more like a chirping sound though.

Does the frequency change with the engine RPM?
A quick and easy trick is to take the fan belt loose from the crank pulley as part of the process of elimination.
In ancient times we used to put belt dressing on squeaking belts. Don't know if you can even buy it anymore....

You can also use a long screwdriver as a mechanics stethoscope. Hold the handle against your head in front of an ear and place the tip on various components such as front and rear alternator housings. That will transmit the sound to your inner ear and make it easy to isolate.

This is definitely my issue. The sound is exactly the same. Did you ever find what the cause was?

Yes. The rockers, shaft, and push rods weren't getting enough oil. I don't know which engine you have but the Jiang Dong engine (letters JD in a diamond on left side of block) has a brass metering orifice under the first rocker shaft stand-off. Mine was plugged. Pull your rocker shaft and inspect everything for abnormal wear.
