Welcome to the forum. :welcome: The American sold 240 is the kissing cousin to your 2000 and is rated at 1430 lbs maximum at the pins. Sending you a pm.

If you are thinking round bales it is not strong enough.

No way. 550-600lbs. will pull the front end off the ground. 200lb front weights will help, but not for 1000lbs.

Ok thanks I was wanting it to be able to lift the 1000lbs but I guess that will be pushing it to much

No doubt about that. I had to add 100Lbs. Front Weight just to keep the Front end down while driving on my Gravel Rd. with a 5'FM. It's well built but can't weigh much more than 500Lbs. If that! And I still leave the rear wheels down to take the weight off when driving in High Gear. The Manuel doesn't provide the weight Specs. but here's a pic to give you an Idea.

I run a 6ft bush hog brand finish mower behind my YM2000 and i have close to 180lbs of weight on the front bumper, but that mower is 700lbs!!! It is very light in the front but i can still ride like that i will run down the road and through the yard, the bumps in the yard with it up will kind of get a wheelie every now and then.

Wrong!!! I Found my Manuel and the weight spec..Your Running 180
Lbs. up front and 700 rear and I have about 100 Lbs. up Front and 611 Lbs rear. Thats why I leave my Rears on the ground. A little to old and beat up for any Thrill seeking Wheelies. So Norms weight 550-600 is pretty much dead on the mark for Rear weight and with no Front weight lifting the Front wheels. The 6' of My JD/Woods is 678 Lbs. 7'-774Lbs.

Its not going to work. My backhoe at ~650 lbs (and the CG far to the rear) is all this YM240 wants to lift. The front loader is plenty of ballast, but it feels like it could only get another 150 lbs off the ground. Driving on bumpy ground with the backhoe squeals the pressure relief valve. This seems like a signal that its at its limit.

Aside from lift capacity, we've read of Kubota owners ripping the back out of the transmission housing from excessive weight, and seen a few examples of tractors split in half at the bell housing. In summary a 1000 lb implement is beyond the intended use of these models.

Lifting the 611 Lbs. for me isn't a problem at all or has any Hyd.noise. What got my Attn. was the front wheels coming off the ground.

I dont really get wheelies so to say just really light up front. A huge bump fast will maybe get a wheelie. I can stand on the 700lb mower in the air and front does not come off ground. And I am just over 200lb myself. Not sure if it could lift me cause I can't reach the lever !! Haha

The 4.5 foot disk I have with a few hundred pounds up front will give wheelies and before I put about 100 pound or so upfront I would pretty much steer with brakes when it was lifted :-0

For what it is worth the 2000 parts manual gives the same maximum weight capactiy. The location of the weight is very important. A 6 foot rotary mower hanging back there is a lot different that a heavy box blade right up close to the lift eyes.

I ran a farm pro chipper on the back of a 1702 with no problems it probably weighs around 7-800#. Had a front loader though.

You mention the words "ran" and "had" in the past tense. Is the tractor still in 1 piece?:)

Yes as far as I know I sold the tractor. But it did a fine job with the chipper. Never had any problems with the tractor it was fantastic. Cleared quite a bit a property with it. It was an incredible work horse for its size. Hated to sell itbut it just wasn't getting any use anymore after I got my newer bobcat tractor. Bigger platform and hydrostat it's hard to beat.

I was reading my manual for the YM 240 (Domestic version of the 2000) and it says ~1430 lbs is the lifting limit of the hydraulics.

Whether your front wheels will stay on the ground at that weight is another story, and it seems like ~600 lbs was the limit without some major counter weight up front.

Thats probably at the lift arms, the weight weigh out back gives leverage and is a problem to try and pick up. think about it this way, a 2x4 thats 8 foot long is probably not very hard for you to pick up grabbing it in the middle or close to it...now try and pick that same board out with you hand on the last foot of the board. That weight hanging weigh out from your lift point makes it almost impossible unless you have heman grip and strength, assuming your trying to hold it perpendicular or pick it up off the ground.

So that finish mower that i lift that weights 700pounds or so is alot since the back of it is close to 3 feet from the lift eyes maybe more. I can stand on it and it still hold it up and it will lift me but i have to be on the front edge of the mower or else i cant reach the lever :)

I had the 2000 out this weekend. When I backed it off the Trailer the FM. was lifted and all 4 Tractor Tires was still on the deck. When the FM. is just off the deck is when I have to set it down on the Ramp or it's Wheelie time!! from the angle. I remembered this Thread and to check how easily it would be to lift the front wheels. I pushed down fairly easily on the back of the FM. furthest away and It bottomed out on the Gate. It was so easy I just had to run out and measure the Length off my Lower Arms and there 31" Pin to Pin. I measured my front Mower Lift arm and they extend another 8-10" when they all the way up/out to lift. So I'm 3.5'. With 100lbs. Fr. counter weight. Without a doubt if anything weighs over 600Lbs. I'm adding more Front weight to make sure the front stays on the ground. I'm glad I only have a 4'BH. Older and well built and it seems to be the same weight.
