I am purchasing a used trailer (7000 GVW) for my JD 4210. I have all the specs for my tractor and toys except for the front end loader (JD 420) and the mid mount mower (60" 7 Iron commercial). Does anyone know the weight for these items?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Just a guess but your trailer probably has about 5000 lb payload capacity. So I wouldn't want the tractor and implements to be more than that.

Big Jon, thinking aout it more I would keep looking for a 10,000 lb trailer with a 18 to 20' floor. Just a little more money for a lot more trailer, and would last a long time. I have a 12,000 lb Big Tex 12PI to haul my 110 tlb on and have no regrets. There are few things more irritating than having to worry about an overloaded trailer.

Steve,
I agree on the 10,000 lb but I found this 7,000lb for a song. That is why I am researching the weights... Tractor and BH at 3600 lbs. Haven't purchased yet still investigating. Thanks for the advice.

I think my 12,000 lb trailer with ramps, brakes on both axles and spare tire was only $3100 brand new. You should be able to find a good used one for half of that I think.

Steve, How long have you had that trailer?? I need to buy one for that price!!

Big Jon, I would GUESS the 60" mmm would be 380 lbs and 420 loader 1100 lbs. I have a 5000 lb trailer and it easily hauls my 4310 with 430 loader, 72" MMM and 655 rototiller. I think the 7000 lb trailer will work fine, just be careful.

Big Jon, looks like everything is adding up to 5100 lbs or close to it. While I would want to get a higher capacity trailer you may be fine with the 7,000 lb. trailer. Does the registration paperwork for the trailer list its weight? How old is the trailer and what kind of condition is it in? What is the price being asked?
