What kind of spray can be used on asparagus, that won't kill it but will kill all the weeds and grasses .

Generally, any weed control has to come before the asparagus emerges or after it is heavily frosted in the fall.

You can also use the corn gluten fertilizer that prevents seed germination. As the asparagus is a rhizome and will sprout through it. Needs to be done in early spring.

Old timers around here would use rock salt in their asparagus beds to prevent weeds. I have never tried it and would not if you have other plants in the area.
