Water Meter for Hose

Does anyone know where I might find a water meter to attach to a 1" hose. I need to measure to 1/10 gallon. I could always get a water meter at the plumbing supply but I would like to have one that could be reset. I have not been able to find such a thing for water although my county extention agent said I should be able to. I know I can get them for fuel but I am not sure they would work for water due to the difference in density and they might corrode. I did a lot of searches on Google but found nothing.

I want to be able to accurately add water to my 3 point field sprayer.

That's a utility water meter. The ones at my local plumbing supply are better. I don't know what he means when he says it's for a hose. Perhaps those are hose bib adapters in the bags. What I am looking for is more like the meters for fuel nozzles but for water. The extention agent said I could find them at nursery suppliers but I could not.

You might check with your local water utility. In our town, they have them for when a large amount of water is needed for an event, such as filling a pool or creating mud pits for mud volleyball. I'm not sure if they are actually rented or loaned out, but it might be worth a call. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, it looks like all these things are just utility meters with hose adapters. I think that is what I will do; i.e., go to the plumbing supply and buy a meter and some hose adapters. I was hoping to find something that was resetable but it looks like that is not in the cards. A meter from the plumbing supply is $65 so with another $6 for hose adapters I would save at least $50 over buying online. Keeps the local guys in business a little longer too.

I bought one of these things locally today. It is big and klunky but it is relatively cheap. I accidently stumbled on the thing I was really looking for - an electronic meter. It is small and should cost a little more than a small calculator but it cost $435 instead. I guess it is a low volume product and they want to keep it that way! It did not take me long to decide that I don't really mind the large and klunky thing. I also found a plastic one that cost $13 and that would probably last for two or more uses.
