That is the plan. I should have been a little clearer. If the problem is not in the intake or heads, ill pull it and send it off.

Oh definitely. I am eager to see how the 292 cam and dart/eagle heads wake it up.

What I would do is add a quart of ATF to the oil and run it for about 10 minutes,to clean it out, drain the oil and filter.
Remove the valve covers and pressurize the cooling system. The head bolts on a small blocks go into the cooling system, you are suppose to coat the threads with Teflon coating to seal them. Very few people do it and even less have a problem. I had a customer have the same problem.
Start with 5 lbs, and leave it for a long time to find the leak. You may want to solvent wash the head area so the coolant is easier to see. Even put paper towels below the bolts so you can catch the coolant, and see it.
If that is not the problem, leave the oil pan plug out and remove the plugs. If the coolant comes out the oil pan it could be the head gasket, intakes will leak to the outside. Turn the motor by hand first, looking for coolant in the cylinders if there is no signs, spin it with the starter, and look for the mist.

Good ideas. I am willing to try anything to solve it. I have been thinking I might need to check the headbolts, maybe retourqe. This motor was built almost 20 years ago, though used very little over that long span.

I found a nice set of aluminum rims for it last week. American Racing Outlaw II rims and tires, $150 for all 4. Made me feel a little better about the engine woes. Not sitting on 4 flats anymore.

It has been my experience that with little use over time, is bad... I had a Jeep like that, in various stages of lifting, painting etc that that went over a long period.

The engine itself was ok, but the seals on stuff dried out and started leaking. The transfer case started leaking, rear axle seals, power steering pump, hoses dried and cracked... I had to R&R$$$ stuff that had been rebuilt, to replace seals.

When you get it fired up again, run it/use it regularly, even if only for a run to the store.
