Washing

I pressure wash mine with Simple Green. Stay away from instrument cluster even from the back side(under the hood), electrical(fuse) box and alternator. Also avoid grease points, unless you enjoy flying grease on ya.

Be sure to clean your radiator from the backside pushing out. A blast of air and or water. Invest in a set of radiator genies to keep it clean or you will soon have an overheating issue. I always just hose everything off afterwards. A few times a year I’ll use the soap foam cannon on my pressure washer to get everything really clean. Be careful washing under the hood and not when the engine is warm.

"Radiator Genies"?

I use the leaf blower on mine frequently, especially on the radiator and screen after every dyr season mowing. Occasionally I hose it off and let it sun dry. It is always parked in the barn. I left my last tractor outside never washed it. In 15 yrs all the plastics and rubber boots were shot, hoses checkered. Not good.

When I didn't have a shed or shelter of any kind, my tractors suffered for it. Western Oregon way too much rain. I began covering them with tarps, worked halfaffed but condensation build up was not making me happy. When I had decent shelter, tractor happier, me happier. I hose it off after working in the manure pile or done with a dusty day. I keep my zerks clean and accessable, ditto with three point and SSQA. Grease gun never grows moss.

I haven’t washed my truck or tractor since I bought them and they both need a bath. My issue is no running water on my land up north so I will wait till I do a shallow well next year. Maybe bring up 5 gallons of water and do a hand wash before snow comes.

I rinse off my tractor after each time I fertilize, since fertilizer is so corrosive. That works out to 6 times between March and late November. I don't bother with soap and sponge, just a real thorough rinsing with the garden hose.

Unless we have an exceptionally muddy spring, I usually wash the zero turn mower once each year, at the end of the mowing season in November or December. That does often involve a sponge and bucket of soapy water.

Neither look terrible, IMO. I'm not showing them, just want to keep corrosives and any major mud rinsed off of them. Never had any issues with instruments or other things getting wet, but I do try go avoid really going to town on those areas, with the hose.

Oh, and I've done the Foamy Engine Brite / hose routine on the engine of each, a few times in their lives, eg. after a major seal leak. Never an issue, but I don't make a regular habit of it.
