I have to laugh...The reason I say mixed is because without its often used against you.
College education really means jack squat in the real world, but when dealing with company guidelines or HR, it can mean a world of difference.
I have a college degree. Don't use it AT ALL in my field, but without it, I wouldn't have gotten to where I'm at.
My direct supervisor to this day doesn't believe I have a BS degree. I think after he and the CFO of our company had dinner and we talked about the CFO's daughter going to school where I graduated, he finally might believe me.
End of the day, my degree doesn't do jack for my paycheck. Lucky enough, I graduated in the 80's and back then a college degree didn't cost an arm and a leg, so I got it paid off pretty quick.
That said, if you're a MD, guess you have to have a medical degree, but that really doesn't mean you're good at it. No different than a dishwasher really...
