Clumber, I did notice that your aux PTO connections seem to be almost on top of the rollover bar, wheras on my PT422, the connections end about 2-3" behind the rollover bar. The guide tubes on your aux pto tubing is much longer on your PT425.

That might just be a common difference between the 422 and 425, but I do think that your connections would be much more difficult to make up just from looking at the geometry.

Somone else have a good picture of their aux PTO connections on a PT425?

The Parker 8200/9200 Series QD can be connected, with both sides under pressure.

Some of the others will connect up to 500 psi .

Thanks JJ. I saw those a few days ago. However, I can't find a place to buy them online. I'm still searching. Also, its very frustrating that the manufacturers are only making 1/2" nominal sizes in the CURP lever and Flat faced QDs. Its the 1/4" connectors that are the most troublesome for me. Could I upsize with adapters???

This weekend I will have some time to take some photos and try to loosen the clamps to try to pull hoses out more. I will try some things and report back by Monday.

I get it now. The ones that connect under pressure just push on and there is no locking ring to retract.

Even if they require more force to connect, the fact that they do not require the ring to be pulled back may be a plus.

Still, with the added cost, I would look at possibly moving the AUX PTO connections a bit forward in their sleeves on the FEL arms to give your fingers a bit of room, if possible (as someone else suggested) and always turn the tractor off and flip the AUX PTO lever a few times first, to see if that helps.

I do know that once in a while they can be stubborn and can only imagine it would be more difficult with reduced strength or arthritis in my hands. I just cringe at the thought of replacing all of those fittings.

Maybe just purchase one set and do one side of an implement to see if it makes a difference for you so you are not out a bunch of $$ if they don't.

I am interested in the tool that you mention.

Don't you have to hold the locking ring back when you connect the fittings? I always do. I retract the ring with one hand and slip the connector on with the other, then release the ring.

How are you going to be able to hold the ring back and operate that clamp at the same time?

I had thought that might be a problem. I plan to try a number of ideas from the forum this weekend. Hopefully it will not get to the point where I have to build a tool. Yes, pulling the ring back is hard enough (lack of leverage) while jamming the male plug at the same time. Trying to chew gum at the same time would be impossible. :laughing:

You could try re-arranging the connectors so the tractor has the two males on the quick attach hoses and the attachment has two females. That way you are using both hands on the same connector. Might give you just the added needed force with both hands on the same connector.

Here's a link to a video of me disconnecting the quick attach hoses and connecting the power angle snow plow. My plow has female connectors on both hoses. I can mix it up if I am not careful, but it is really easy to connect and disconnect.

The Main PTO for the mowers, on the other hand, have opposite male and female connectors, so you can't get the mower rotation incorrect.
