That's the problem,its not digital at all. It is at least 15 years old. Long before anyone was doing digital video at home. Before USB, DVD and FireWire.

JD, that $69 one looks interesting. Might give new life to that old Sony. This is just for my 16 yo to dabble around anyway.

I wasn't implying your old 8mm was digital. What I was saying is that most digital video cameras have this feature built in so if you buy a new video camera, don't go waste money on a capture device. I see lots of people with digital video cameras also buy a digital capture device which is redundant. And sometimes buying a cheap digital video camera isn't much more $$ than a capture device.
