Verastile 500

Anyone have any experience with the Versatile 500? I know enough to stay away from the "Triple Nickel" but havent heard much about the 500. It has a 8.3l Cummins (504ci) which puts out about 190hp. It isn't a huge 4x4 by any means but should be enough tractor for my needs (640 acres).

I know this is a completely different motor then the 555 had, but wondering if its comparable to the 855 as far as quality goes.

I had heard bad things about the planetary gears in the 555 and wonder if the 500 uses a similar inboard planetary setup?

You'll want to post on a more focused AG site, there are not a lot of arable ground farmers here working lots of acres.

So after talking to a dealer, I found out the drive train, specifically the axles are the exact same as the 555, which is enough of a problem to stop me from making a offer on it.

Anyone have any experience with a Versatile 700? The motor is a 555, but it has a different drive train. My dad had one at one time, I remember it being a decent tractor but something tells me he had the engine swapped to a 855...
