Van brunt grain drill model

I just purchased a van brunt grain drill that is double disc with 6” centers. It is a 5’. 10’ cut in half. I am looking for the seed chart but I don’t know what model this is. It does have a steel plate showing some settings like wheat but it doesn’t have rye or sun flowers. Any help appreciated.

It would help to ID your drill if you would posts a couple of photos. Is your drill grain only or combo of grain & fertilizer. Rye & Wheat seed should be close to same setting unless you're referring to Ryegrass. It will surprise me if you can locate a seeding amount for Sunflower seeds.

No fertilizer. I have it apart now as I am going to paint it. See attached photos.

My brother uses a bean/corn planter for sunflowers, uses his grain drill for the smaller stuff.

Model B I remember unloading those drill components from a railroad box car then after transporting them to JD dealership assembling that model of drill ack in the late 1960's

Would the seed chart be available if I do a search for model B then.

Seed chart for Model B grain drill is part # M18023. According to part search on @ JD dealer chart is still available to purchase from JD.

I have a 2 row corn planter I purchased from RSD Outdoors and it works perfectly for planting corn but two years in a row planting sunflowers with it was a joke. Hardly any sunflowers. Think they are getting stuck with there shape and not coming out. Do I need different plates.

I believe it has finger pick ups.

That seed chart is no longer available. I spun the tire four times and counted the seed (40) and then divide by 4 to get for one revolution so 10 sun flower seeds drop in the tire circumference of 80.5”. So about a seed every 10”. Is that good? I have 6” spacing so I was going to plug two next to each other to get 18” rows. Any recommendations appreciated.
