Anybody heard anything about the alleged UTV? I see a banner ad on this site from time to time saying "coming soon" but......

Makes me a bit nervous about buying one when they do finally show up. Maybe they are having problems.

I'm currently looking at the Kubota RTV 500. The big brothers of this unit, (900 &1100) are just a little too big for my needs. The KIOTI might be competing with those bigger units, so that coupled with the fact that they aren't available yet has me losing interest. There must be problems of some sort. Why make an announcement and then not have anything available for another year??? Good luck...

Dealer just told me 'June' today.

The "Problem" with the machine was that Comet Clutch (Yes, the american company) went belly up and shut down.
This was the clutch Kioti was to use.
This made them have to go back to the drawing board, mid early production.

Daedong USA, KIOTI Tractor had also requested a few other design revisions, most important was to move the seat back 4". We saw and sat on the prototype at the dealer meeting in 2009, and drove the production model at the meeting this year. The relocated seat made a world of difference in the comfort of the seat. Then came the CVT supplier problem, which has been resolved.

We think the tweeking and the subsequent delays are going to mean a really nice unit. They sure are nice to drive. The advantage of the newer CVT Transmission is the lower engagement rpm. Makes for a really smooth start up.

We should have them at the dealership in June.

After driving the Kioti Mechron, the Gator, the RTV and the Mule at the dealer meeting I can honestly say that it will be worth waiting for if you are looking for a workhorse type UTV. (25MPH). the ride and comfort are well... running ahead of the pack!

MichiganIron and BlueChip:

What is the Kioti UTV's ball park price and what is the available optional equipment list on the "Mechron" please?

Also-Why are they sticking with a name like "Mechron"? That just sounds like a dumb name to me...but just my 3 cents. "Back 40", "Ranch Dawg", "Cow Puncher" , "Howler", "Hauler" ..almost anything would sound more marketable..

When I google "Mechron" I get the UTV and this (Any connection to the Canadian Power Engineering Firm?):
MECHRON POWER SYSTEMS - Company

Sounds like one of the "Transformers" to me...:)

Price has not been finalized or announced we should have the details soon. The Mechron is some type of animal or legendary large animal, I guess in keeping with the "KIOTI" tradition. It is a well thought out machine. Engine under the seat lets the cushion do double duty for comfort and sound deadening, also helps with weight distribution. the necessary rise in the center of the wide bench seat makes for a side bolster for the outside occupants. plenty of room for 3. CVT trans is much smoother operational than an HST in a vehicle application with lots of changes in speed, starting and stopping. It should do well in the work vehicle segment of this market.

No matter what the name, this thing sounds impressive.

22HP diesel, 1600lb payload, 56" wide bed, MacPherson struts up front, Dual-A arms with adjustable coil springs in the rear, and 12" of ground clearance.
KIOTI Introduces New Line of UTVs for Work or for Play

That puts it right in line with the Kubota RTV 900.

thanks bluechip. It does sound like a great little machine. I know I sure am interested in one and have been thinking it would make a good compliment to the new CK30 HST we have.

Allow me say the name Mechron vis not a familiar term (maybe it is a gamer's term) and it sure won't pop up on Google; which is some of indicator of note on the general population/USA consumer's awareness of the "Legend of Mechron".

If it is an awesome legendary fierce beast-then I get that-but the UTV is first and the legend of the animal is second...so why that name? Am I the first to question the wisdom of choosing this name?

When you hear someone say the term Mechron, depending on how it is said-it could be mech-Ron (Mechanic-Ron) or even worse MECH'RON or "Mc' Ron". Im sure the the competition will go with the later; as in "Do you want a Mc' Ron with your happy meal?"

Man I wish they would have polled us on a name for this thing! Sounds like the kid of the bosses boss named it Ha Ha... .

I sure am anxious to check out the Kioti UTV. I'll call mine a K-U-T-V

My Kioti dealer has a great big ole' picture of the new machine on his site that he took at the dealer's meeting. He is not a sponser here but he is the only Kioti Dealer in Carson City. NV.-FYI

Many dealers had similar questions at the dealer meeting. Cub Cadet calls theirs a "Volunteer" I guess that works in Tennessee pretty well. The name has sort of grown on me a little bit but it is a real nice unit regarless of what you call it.
