Any thoughts on using a loader for digging footers? I have a 24x36 barn coming up. This will very likely be the only time I need to dig footers. Got this B7800 tractor sitting there , seems a shame not to use it if I can. Footers dont need to be very deep here in SC , only a foot or so.

If you have a toothbar and the soil is workable then your loader might do the job. I have used a subsoiler on my 3PH to dig water lines and such. Any way you can loosen up the soil will help. A narrow bucket would be the trick but I have not seen one attached to a loader. Betcha someone has done that by now!

Try removing some of the rows of tines from your roto tiller? I have made footers using this method and it works fine----Ken Sweet
