Buying Advice Used JD 1025R

I'm considering getting a tractor. I've noticed in my area there are many used low hour JD 1025R tractors at dealers and on Facebook marketplace. Some have as little as 5 hours on them. Is this the same across the US? What are your thoughts on why there are so many used 1025R tractors available. Is there a problem with them? Did people buy them and decided they needed more or less tractor?

The 1025R (and 2305 before it) are big sellers so you would expect to see a number of them on the market. They are subcompacts so I would guess many buyers found they didn't need a tractor at all or they needed a bigger one. If the Kubota dealers in your area are popular, you would probably see a lot of BXs also.

I looked at Facebook Marketplace for Kubota BX series and there are several. They do not have as low of hours as the 1025R tractors. I didn't find any on the net at the dealer's websites. What struck me as odd were the number of 1025R tractors with very low hours on them.

Like anything on marketplace you have to watch for scams but they are popular tractors. I see them a lot in my area. They have a significantly more powerful loader than the Kubota BX tractors.

Some people trade every year. I did it for a lot of years back when I was working. Most years there was less than 40 hours on the meter. I worked with a guy that had 14 hours on his one year.

Our trade-ins usually were sold the same week we traded in.
If you can get the one with 5 hours on it, great. Maybe it is a demo. But ask, maybe it was in a flood.

I've seen alot of them for sale, too. I look right past them, and consider them just barely more than a garden tractor. May fit SOME peoples needs, but I think they're (BX's too) just too small.
