used 4300 weak spots

Hello-
I am going to look at a 1999 model 4300 4WD hydrostatic transmission and FEL. It has about 700 hrs on it. Any known trouble spots I ought to pay particulat attention to? Thanks

This might be too much to ask - but is there a maintenance log showing what has/has not been done? That is well past the major items that get done early in the hourly cycle (switching to much larger intervals) - so it would be interesting to know.

The 4300 is a good workhorse for bushogging and dirt work. Make sure your tractor starts right up when u turn the key. If it has to turn over a few times before starting there is a problem.

The plastic hood, fenders, and side panels will crack and brake very easily so check them for damage. My front grill which houses the headlights never has closed properly. When I close the spring fasteners at the top the bottom of the grill always raises up too high and pops off the mounts.

Never get in a hurry when removing or replacing anything plastic. One turn to tight and u crack the plastic where the screws are. (Been there done that).

Also check the radiator and transmission cooler for battery acid damage and leaks. The battery on the 4300 sits directly in front of both and I have to clean them every week.
