Ok, got lots of pics (sized correctly)...

Here's some pics from when the incident occurred...

Got the tractor home and FEL and shredder off, and removed the guard and hood.

Tonight I removed the radiator which only took about 20 minutes, very simple. Here's a step by step, that probably doesn't cover every detail but will get you going if you ever need to do this job. Do not pay a fortune for the dealer to do this, it's super easy stuff....

First I removed the battery and took the coolant reservoir lose

Remove the upper air hose to air filter

Removed the 4 bolts holding the gray plate in place, 2 x 12mm, 2 x 14mm.

Slide the gray plate forward a bit to give more room for the radiator to come out.

Left the silver ring on either side and removed the screen in front of the radiator

Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses (just upper in my case) and tie them back.

There are 6 10mm bolts holding the radiator in place, 2 on the front at the top, and 4 on the backside holding the shroud in place. Remove them.

Disconnect the reservoir line from the top of the radiator

Push the schroud back and the gray assembly forward.

Pull out radiator

The belt looks ok, but I'm going to replace it anyway. The lower hose shows no sign of damage, so I'm not going to replace it.

Also, remove the grey left and right engine side shields.

The new radiator comes in tomorrow's mail, so I should be able to get it all back together and back to work tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you for documenting this for us. This will help many people out in the future.

Awesome job... again. It's great to have two tractor!!! (even if, in my case, the extra one is a neighbor's). Your garage is WAY to clean... :D :drink:

To keep this from happening again, I would have backed into that brush. Most likely also not the best way of doing it... but I've back into some pretty bad crap where I had to duck and cover... :2cents: I raise the bush hog and drop it on top of the brush.

Now that I have a hydraulic top link, I shorten the top link so the mower is tilted pretty sharp and just back into brush.

It would not have helped my issue last weekend, but it could help prevent future radiator/oil cooler issues.... this is my next modification.

A nice clean break like that would sure tempt me to try to repair the old one and keep it as a spare. Are there specialty companies that do repairs on fiber-reinforced plastic like this? Like maybe the "soft" auto bumper repair shops?

The radiator was delayed due to bad weather up north, but it finally arrived today. I got it installed in about 20 minutes and added the 50/50 coolant and fired it up. All is good! Road tested in my neighborhood and got it up to temp. No leaks and ready to go.

I'll definitely hang on to the old radiator since this issue is fairly common and someone may want it in the future.

Sorry about what happened to your new machine. I've been a skid steer operator for a while now and have a big bush cutter for it. When I got my Kubota L I had think real slow so I wouldn't back up or drive over stuff that I'd drive over all day long in the Bobcat.
Looks like you've got a good handle on it.

(I like your 928 too)
