This past Friday, I had to travel down to Manhattan for a monthly meeting that I have to attend. The meeting is on Fifth Avenue, which is one of the fanciest sections of Manhattan. I got there early, and was sitting on a bench in front of a park, killing time, when a brand new John Deere Gator came barreling down the New York City sidewalk, with a bunch of maintenance equipment in the back!!!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I certainly NEVER expected to see a John Deere in the heart of New York City!!! It made me feel a little less out of my element!!!!

Oh yeah... don't forget that "<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=owning&Number=16633&Search=true&Forum=All_Forums&Words=mower%20man&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=50&Old=allposts&Main=9670>Mower Man</A>" Gary Hatter took his Kubota BX2200 down the streets of Manhattan... driving in the streets. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Oh, what I would have done to see that one. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Hey, they've gotta keep the city clean and the parks mowed somehow. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I think I saw one on the news being used by the military forces in Afganistan. Seems like the Gators and Mules are useful everywhere.

Funny you should mention the military using a Gator, I just the other day saw on the JD web site the specs for a military edition of the Gator. They even listed it as air drop certified. I bet that even CowboyDoc has not air drop tested his Gator yet.../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

rf,
roflmao. No can't say as I have tryed that one yet, hahaha. BUT my daughter probably has!! She goes flying around the pastures on that thing and she does get some air on some of those little hills.

Doc, I bet if your daughter likes the Gator, she would love that new Polaris beast. They list the top speed on that one at > 40MPH. Seems that the Gators top out around 20MPH. I think that the 20MPH is plenty fast on one of those little things, but I guess if I had a really big ranch, speed might be a consideration... Oops, I am rambling again. Sorry/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
