UPS DELIVERY WARNING

Even worse with USPS tracking!
Absolutely USELESS!

It really is. There was a time when you could go to the website and find the exact status of your package. Now it simply says "your package is in transit." No joke, Sherlock!

Seems to depend on the shipper and/or phase of the moon. Sometimes the tracking info is detailed, others as you describe. No real pattern to it.

You should sign up on the Post Office website for “informed delivery”. It emails you a picture of each piece of mail as it comes through for delivery.

Works for about 80% of the mail you actually get. Not perfect but can be helpful. If they show a picture of it and it doesn’t show up in your mailbox then you have narrowed it down a little.

I just had another Fed Up delivery today left down at the end of the driveway which is a little over 800' from the house. I think it's a matter of who the driver is because most of the delivery people bring parcels up to the house. In our are U.S.P.S. is best then UPS,slow, then Fed Up, sporadic.

We had for the first time a UPS delivery by a person in their own car. So random car pulls in our driveway. Sits there for a couple minutes. Lady finally gets out and is wearing a UPS shirt and grabs a box out of the back seat.

I am thinking they should have a logo on the top of the car like pizza drivers do.

It's easy, they didn't want to deliver it, so they marked it up as "declined" or "undeliverable" (for some random reason) so that they wouldn't get in trouble for not delivering it. They get scored on this stuff, and as long as they have a "reason" for not delivering it, it doesn't count against them.

No matter what tracking system they come up with, lazy people will find a way to game that system.

I have had that happen several times.

I have to agree with this. The other day a guy drove up in a older lifted 4WD F250 diesel, being hunting season I thought maybe a hunter asking to hunt the property so I come out of the shop and he gets out, no uniform, holding a package and says he has a UPS delivery.

Had a brief discussion with him and he said he was a boiler welding inspector and had lost his job in Nevada due to the covid shutdown. He had moved his family up to our area and he and his wife and two kids were living in a travel trailer in a nearby town to be nearer family. He was just trying to get by the best he could under the circumstances.

One would think a sheet of paper on the dash with the letters UPS in big letters would be wise though.

Happens all the time with FedEx. We live 3 miles outside of the city limits. FedEx delivery guy says he only comes out out here every 3rd day. They don't pay him enough to make a trip for just one package so he saves them up.

I had a rather rough looking individual dressed in a wife beater and dozens of tattoos show up on my porch video camera and throw a package onto the steps.
And my kids laugh when I tell them truck drivers all the way up into the 60s used to wear a uniform with a bowtie.
Cant believe how much things have changed.
