- Simplicity regent EX, 42 snow thrower, chapman 25 gal spray rig, JD 130 LB spreader, upgraded LED head lamps
So this is my first post to the forum and just joined so I got a lot to put out there. As far as this little beast I picked up last year what a monster! I have a fair amount of land to cut along with an extra spot a neighbor and i keep knocked down the cut is phenomenal, it never bogs down and and smashes through anything. I purchased the snow thrower for my place and it does a really good job save for the lack of traction on the front tires which I'm looking in to replacing this yr which leads me to the main point of this post.
I have the regent EX 26 Hp with a 52 deck, my land is a example of all terrains, a few moist spots, some slopes gentle and a bit steep ( both moist and lose top soil but grows turf) rocky to flat out. Ive changed to Oregon brand "gator" blades as i know the mass these carry keep their edge and smash small bush stumps with out flinching, and spits it out in tooth pick sized shards....sweetness.
But my main issue is traction, I'm looking into some alternative tires mainly ATV BKT AT-112
. AG tries get a mixed bag on reviews from really good to ripped up my turf. Anything will be better than turf tires for my land. Now on that note has anyone ever tried to get a different hydro tranny with limited slip. Stock power unit is a tuff torq K46 and is it possible (in theory) to get one from simplicity like the broadmoor auto traction control Tuff torq K57 and swap them out? It just seems like a swap out of the hydro motor (Tuff Torq | LAWN & GARDEN TRANSAXLES).
Trust me if I had the monetary backing and hadn't just bought the house I would have gotten the Legacy or prestige 4WD. The other modification I'm thinking about is a different size or style of rim rather than a e-clip secured drive wheel, but rather 4 lug nuts like most tractors. With my factory rims selection of tires are very limited, 20x10x8 are stock. I would also appreciate any leads on where to get front rims in a different size stock is 15x6x6, as the tires were about as good as skis when snow blowing, gonna swap them out to. I have the chains and weights but it made little difference in the front end.
Thanks guys I look forward to your thoughts and comments and ideas!
