Updated Ignition????

Greetings, I am sorry if this topic has been brought up recently but I am ashamed to say I have been spending more time recently on the Dootalk snowmobile forum than this one.

Anywho, I have finally had to deal with the dreaded Kioti ignition problem. I have found if the tractor sits for more than a week I have to do some creative key turns and jiggles to one, get the glow plug relay to work and two, get the fuel pump relay to work, and three, get the tractor to turn over.

I sent my dealer and email and he immediately shipped me out a new ignition switch. He advised me this is a new and updated switch. I have not had a chance to install it yet but did note the keys are in fact different. Has anyone else used these replacement ignitions yet and how are they holding up?

Great timing.....my best friend has the same tractor and same issue. Dealer sent him a new switch but it doesn't work. He's checked the ground, terminals, etc. Not sure if he's checked the relays but he's pretty frustrated.....can't say I don't blame him! Mine starts like a charm (knocking on wood right now!!). Please keep us posted. My friend is more than likely going to have to take his back to the dealer. Ugh!!

My switch was replaced a year ago when the tractor went in for service. Tractor is kept outside under a carport on side of garage, not uncommon to find it covered in snow this winter. Quite a bit of snow in Northern Ontario this year. Spring type cover on the new switch seems to keep moisture and dirt out. No issues to date, touch wood.

One week with new ignition with single digit temps. Tractor is starting like it should with no manipulation. The new switch seems to have been the fix.:thumbsup:
