Tractor
Looking to buy
Thanks to all the feedback I received on this post, I made a decision and received my new Kubota L3800 yesterday. I went for the heavier model and feel very good about the decision.

Regarding the jerky hitch, I asked the sales rep about it and he directed me to a valve just under the seat that adjusts the pressure and sure enough, it fixed the jerkiness right then and there.

I am attaching a picture of the tractor as it is pulling up my driveway. Isn't she purty? It has only been 24 hours and she is no longer clean and shiny!!

The only reason I am writing this and not out there at the moment is the rain.
Hope to continue to learn more as I go along. Reading the "what not to do with a FEL" post has been enlightening. Thanks again for all the feedback!

Congratulations on your new tractor, lots to learn and lots of good threads plus seat time and taking it slow will get you productive in no time.

Did it fix it with an implement hanging off the back???

Have you had a chance to hook anything up to it yet?

I dont know what "valve" you are refering to. But the only adjustment under the seat (that I am aware of) is the drop speed control. And on those of us with a jerky hitch, that doesnt solve anything:confused2:

Congrats! Nice machine you got! I really think the std. L series is a nicer machine than the 303xE's. Good luck with the new machine!

I am attaching a photo with the knob circled in yellow. Kubota refers to this as the "3-point hitch lowering speed knob." According to the manual, it has three settings:fast, slow and lock.

The salesman adjusted it with the Bushog SQ160 on the back. It transformed the jerky lowering of the attachment to a smooth motion. I have been using it on the property and have had no further issue.

Sounds like we are talking about the same knob....not sure why it didn't work for you.

The problem in those models seems to be jerkiness in slow lifting, not lowering, the knob under seat only affects lowering.
