Update: 3PH won't raise...

A while back I posted that my KAMA 454's 3PH would not raise due to interfearence from an impliment and the draw bar. I have been traveling a bit lately and I took some time today to replace the lift valve assembly.

IT WORKS! Thanks Chip (and your mechanics) for all the advice as I called in repeatedly.

If you decide to dissect the bad valve I am interested in what broke.

I too am interested in the cause of failure. According to the diagram, there are several relief valves. Chip and I concluded that the relief valves probally did there job just fine, (for awhile!). But after ten hours they must have given up. I'd like to repair so I have a spare for the next time I do a bone head thing!

The reliefs probably got way hot from constant bypassing.. and the springs got weak.. thus making them bypass at a lower psi.. or just stay bypassed.

Constantly bypassing valves are also prone to stick open if there is any trash circulating ( new systems with filters are less prone to this ).

Had the same symptom on my KAMA 554 last summer. It turned out to be a loose locknut on the float linkage inside the 3ph case.

My linkage was loose too. I tried tightening, no luck. I tried adjusting by shortening and lenghtening, no luck. The only thing that worked was bumping the FEL control. All fixed now but I will dissasemble some day
