Unwelcome House Guests

I figured they are just flying rats so it might work and it did, at least in my
case.

In Germany, they are actually called flying MICE (Fledermaus). I built a bat house a few years ago according
to spec, and it has been ignored.

If I close the big umbrella on our deck, I will have a bat in it in a day or 2. Apparently, they take up temporary
rest stops during the nights, too, as I see their spoor in other places they like to "hang out".

In some areas of the US, its illegal to kill bats or even displace them, seems I recall something like that here in PA years back. It was caught up in a legal nightmare and I believe the people actually lost their home. DER claimed its was illegal to kill or displace, and Health services claim the residence was unsafe to live in due to bat guano.
Lesson: Best to keep some things under your hat..

While they were out eating I sealed up their entry way. Hopefully they will move into the bat house we put up for them :D

We removed the wood they were behind to be sure the coast was clear.
