That is a good idea. All the PT owners should take note and simplify things. The temperature will increase the pressure in the hydraulic line, connected or not. Every thing you did is a good thing.

I like your disconnect setup. I was thinking about doing the same. Scott, at PT told me to relieve the pressure in the lines before detaching anything via the aux pto. To relieve the lines, the procedure is simple. 1. Turn off the machine. 2. Pump the aux pto lever 5 or 6 times. That's it. The pressure should be relieved sufficiently to disconnect. I don't know why it would be any different with your setup. Have you tried this?

Tim, The pressure in the lines from attachments has been a problem since day one. This is caused by heat build up in the lines and cylinders. If the two lines are connected together, some times it is hard to unsnap the quick disconnects. Even when the lines are just hanging, the pressure still builds up, and they will not plug together until you relieve the pressure using a hammer and rod, or unscrewing a fitting.

I went out this morning to mow (after tilling a bunch the day before and couldn't get the mower hoses attached to the PTO no matter how hard I tried. I was pressing enough (on one side) to allow fluid out but still no luck. Probably let out three tablespoons or so and was getting very frustrated. Came in the house and did a search for the old thread for hints but couldn't find it! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Then I saw this thread at the top that referenced the old thread. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Read it and it reminded me that it could be the attachment side locked up not the tractor side. Got a bolt and small hammer gave one tap to the nipple on the attachment side letting out maybe three or four drops (vs tablespoons) and they slid on like butter! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I had wanted to time how long in took me to mow a certain section of the yard so I had looked at the clock right before I tried connecting the hoses.
