I have a 2wd tractor. Honestly, I really don't need 4wd, and the machine is paid off.

This year I had some issues with the front tires not being able to steer when using a larger front broom to move snow.

Would a tire change for the front to this help with steering control with a 2wd tractor using a broom?

Not unless you bought a straight rib tire.
Using the 1-wheel brake works OK though

Would something like this work?

18x8.50-8 V61 HD 5-Rib 6 Ply Tire

I like the small ribs so it doesn't mess up my lawn in the winter. Maybe I can keep them on all year.
