Kioti DS3510 1949 Ford 8N
I was changing my filters and oil on the 50 hour mark on my DS3510. Well the first thing I sure found to be true is that the factory installed hydrolic filter is a SOB to get off just like everyone has said but finally managed to get it off.
But I do have a question. Does the tranny/hydro have two fill plugs?
When I added some hydro fluid after changing the filter and just figuring that the red plug on the top of the tranny is where you fill it. But, now looking back at the Kioti manual there is one at the back of the tractor too and that's where they said to fill it at. So, did I screw up?

I can't think of anything else that would go in that red plug on top of the tranny except the Hydro/tranny fluid.
I went back looked all through the manual to see what the red plug was for on top of the tranny where I had filled it at. But nowhere is this plug mentioned at all. It does show a pic or two of it but nothing mentioned at all about it. So, I'm confused on this one.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Wow 80 some odd posters have looked at this post and no one knows??? I love this tractor and I haven't used the tractor since because I don't want to cause any harm to it. So do any of you knowledgeable guys know if I'm OK with where I filled it at?

I think many of us look for new posts regardless of which sub forum. Your title raised my curiosity but upon reading it I can't help you. I didn't know it was in Kioti sub forum.

I think this happens often.

Someone with a KIOTI will be along shortly.

On my DK-40SE THe fill plug is at the Back of the tractor. Hope this helps. Is the trans stick showing full?

Same on my NX4510HST cab. Don't know about the DS. Is your loader operating properly? Is the oil level showing full on the rear fill plug's dip stick?

What red plug on top of the transmission? I have never heard of this.. Some Pix would help. But if the fluid filled the transmission reservoir, then I can't see how it would be a problem. On all of the Kioti tractors including mine the fill plug is on the back of the tractor. I have never owned a DS. I see you have met and defeated that dang hydraulic filter gorilla. Congratulations, and welcome to the pack!

Unfortunately I don't have a DS local to look at but would think that being a gear tractor there is more than one opening that leads inside. When you added fluid did the dip stick show the rise in fluid? IF so I would think there is no harm done, If not I would be looking real closely at where the hole leads to before running it.

I don't own your model, but my 3054 has a plug on the transmission and one on the rear of the differential case which serves as the case vent. You fill from either port, but I've found the transmission fill port to be more user friendly

If it's the same as the CK35, the red plug on top (still behind the seat though) is the fill port, the yellow one further down is the dipstick to check the fluid. You have it right:thumbsup:

I found this on Michigan Irons site.... It does appear to show a fill plug on the front of the Trans. My CK20 has the fill on the front of the tranny as well and has a red cap, on the right hand side of the tractor and the level check is on the left hand side (also on the front of the tranny).
