Tundra vs. Chevy

There's a used car lot down from my house that has a 2014 Z71 Silverado crew cab LT with 6,000 miles on it. It's equipped exactly like my truck (also a 2014). They're asking $45000!!! You can buy that same truck brand new for a sticker of $47,000 and then you subtract rebates. Absolutely ridiculous they price a used truck like that and I bet they'd be offended if you explained to them how overpriced it was. Yeah, I'll stick to buying new.

Some idiot will buy it for $43,000 and think they got a deal. Many are just programmed to think they can't afford new.

I went through that when I bought my Tundra 10 years ago. I paid $26,000 for it new-that was seeing 3-4 year old trucks of the same trim and equipment level with 40,000-50,000 miles on them for 22-23 K. Buying new was a no-brainer.

My 2015 Chevy 2500HD LT Z71 6.0L 6 spd 4.10 diffs Double cab with snow plow prep and 5th wheel / gooseneck prep packages was around $48K. I got it for $39K and the dealer thru in a Line-X bed liner as part of the deal.

Times have changed. I bought mt 2005 GMC 3500 SRW 4x4 LTZ crew cab long bed for $36,000 new. I think it snickered for $43,000

GMC dealers, deal.

Toyota dealers don't budge much at all.

I have found the same with GM. Ford is very proud of their trucks and want quite a bit more for similar performance and quality.

GM truck sales are also in the crapper. They are off 14.7% and got beat out of the number 2 spot by Dodge for the first time ever.

They NEED to deal. Toyota and Ford don't!

you need to find a "volume" dealer and talk to the sales manager. You can get a good deal on a Toyota this way.
