Snow Tuff Torq transaxle slipping?

I have a Craftsman 24 HP lawn tractor with a 40" snowblower. After the recent storm, the snow here was thick and heavy with a crust on top. This required a lot of pushing into fresh snow a short distance then backing up and widening the path. On two occasions, I could not back up but the rear wheels were not moving so it appears something is slipping in the transmission. I had to shovel out snow to get things moving.

Does this indicate a problem in the transaxle? The transaxle is a Tuff Torq K46BT.

Other than this problem, I am impressed with this machine. I have had it for three years but this year we are getting far more snow than in the last two. It can move an impressive amount of snow!

What condition is the belt in? Are you sure it wasn't getting wet and slipping?

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have some light reading for you on the K46. Well to be truthful not exactly light. Good luck.
