Tractor

Well I decided to move my 08 tractor into the garage today and my 05 F150 out. At least for the summer. The tractor was sitting in the sun, under a tarp but still exposed bucket, cylinders and tires. I've seen what that has done to my friends L35 (dry rot tires and faded paint). Maybe it will go back out for the winter and truck will come in so I don't have to scrap ice and snow off my work truck in the A.M. (Maine).

Wondering how many people have kicked their vehicles out of the garage for their tractor.

I kick my wife's truck out of the garage in the winter, so the BX is ready to roll for snow removal

We just got rid of a bunch of junk to make room for the tractor. Luckly the car and tractor both fit in the garage at once.

My truck won't fit in the garage unless I take the hitch drawbar out. Then, there isn't enough room to walk around it. So, tractor, ATV and mower live on that side.

My truck barely fits on the "husband side" but I should mention that the thing that pushed it over for me was that I was away for two weeks and yellow jackets built a nest under my tractor, pleasant surprise on start up. Think it will stay in for the summer.

My wife's XC90, my Expedition, my BX, BH, bagger, and all other implements as well as my side-by-side, compressor, generator, 2nd fridge, tool chest, push mower, chipper, 2 Power Wheels, and a myriad of other items all live inside a very cramped 3 car garage.

When my garage 'explodes', it is my truck that gets the boot. Tractor stays inside and my wife's car, I am told, will always stay inside.

My tractor was outside under 2 rain events during the 2 week service period this spring and it showed. Scale rust in both buckets and on the lever. I've never left much of anything outside...it just destroys things so fast.

A shed is on the docket for construction in the forseeable future. Can't wait.

The tractor won't fit in the house garage but the truck will so the truck gets the house garage in the winter but the car usually ends up there in the summer. The tractor almost always stays in the shop unless it is running (working). The car gets tucked into the back corner of the shop for the winter which is why the truck gets the house garage for the winter. Basically, the truck is most likely to find itself out in the weather. It is the least likely to have the same tires on it long enough for sun damage to matter (380hp can do that:D) and is most likely to get traded off before it gets weathered enough to be a concern. Besides being all alarmed up and probably easier to replace, should it wander off unexpectedly, than either the car or the tractor.

I built a new 28x44 to help keep the weather off of my old B2150 and now my new B3030, not to mention it makes a great dog house:thumbsup:

Same here, at least until I get the basement cleaned out enough for it to have a roof over it there.

tractor in. two car garage is work shop. In my oponion the garage is a huge waste of space to just put cars in it that you drive everyday. If it is a car that you don't use everyday like a classic car you restored, or a nice days and week end ride that is a different story. Think about it.......You get up in the morning and drive your car/truck to work where it sits out in the baking sun and other elements,or is being worked out of if it is your truck. It gets dirty, wet, sunbaked, road grimed snowed on and salted all day then you drive it home with all that stuff on it to park it in the garage for the night time when the sun is not out, just to have the water, snow, dirt, salt, fall off in the garage. The tractor (in my case) is used to maintain the property, so while I am working it, it is in the elements, mabe 20 hrs a week. That is far less than 24/7. I also don't trade the tractor in every 3- 5 years like most people do with their cars, so the tractor has to last.

Save the tractor!

Some use couple plank boards..front to rear..just enough to keep rubber of ground.

My tools are down in the basement shop - this can be a PITA, but it's the only way I can cram the L3400, wife's car, my car, various power wheels vehicles, jogger strollers, trash can, recycle bins, zero-turn mower, trimmer, power broom, piles of Tonka trucks, Hotwheels, all kinds of balls/bats/nets/camping gear, snowboards, skis, up to 4 tons of wood pellets ... you get the idea.
Use to bring the pellets down to the basement but that gets real old make 120lb trips time and again :)

My car has been out year-round since brand new. Tractors stays in the garage unless it is in use.
I drive about 30,000 miles per year so the car will be toast LONG before the tractor. I just want to protect the one that will last longer and keep it's value a whole lot better.

TLB and all attachments, ATV,ZTR, compressors, tools, workbench, Gladiator cabinets all inside. We have 4 garage stalls total. I have three, my wife has one and usually when the BH is off she is kicked out.

I'm in the midst of building a garage. It's going to be 28x32 with a second floor for all the junk, lol. Although it's only going to have two doors (since I'm running a steel I-beam down the middle so I don't need any center posts) one is going to be 12' wide by 9' or 10' high. I'm thinking I can park the L4240 in between the two cars and have enough room to drive it out without moving the car out of the way. The real question is will the 4240 get here before the garage is done.
