Troy Bilt Horse Re-power question

   / Troy Bilt Horse Re-power question #11
Have a 1980s model 6.5HP Horse Troybilt purchased last year. Had to replace engine and purchased a Honda. Question... the oil fill is low on engine and instructions said to fill to overflow with engine level. When in use the engine is at about 15+ degree tilt. Is enough oil getting to the moving parts during use to adequately lubricate the engine over time? Will use significantly shorten the engine's life?

Should be OK, but if you're real concerned about it, just shim it up 15 degrees to replicate operating angles and fill it from there.

Check the engine oil with the engine level, and should be OK operating at the normal working angle. Engine should withstand up to 25 degree angle.

Honda engines are strange! ----- With B & S and kohler I fill mine a bit overfull and never let them get too low. ,--even have one with a tec. 8 hp ovh rod knocker on it with electric start, that runs excellent being a bit overfull.
When tilling deep, you are WAY over 15 degree angle---- closer to 45 to 50, so ya overfill helps on them.
