What has ten cylinders, twenty pistons, two crankshafts, and no valves?

Been in use from 1930's to present day.

That sounds like the Fairbanks Morse two piston per cylinder engines that was used in Submarines. Am I close?

What diesel engine series had spark plugs fired by a magneto? No, these are not glow plugs.

There was a radial aircraft engine that had no carburetors. Only RPM control was to turn ignition on & off.
What was it???

Our JD Model A ran on diesel fuel and had spark plugs.

Rhone-Gnome rotary aircraft engine. I think the crank was mounted to the fuselage and the prop was on the crankcase.

Marshall Dillon rode Buck on Gunsmoke and after it ended Ben Cartwright rode Buck on Bonanza.

Close enough. Buck the horse was in both shows. Loren Greene like the horse so much he bought it and took it home.

Yep and due to the gyroscope effect it would turn sharply one way but very poorly the other.

For some reason it isn't taking the 'reply with quote'

Then the JD used the same system as the one I have in mind except on mine you didn't need to switch back to gas when shutting down.

We switched back, but I don't know if it was required to. Just how I was told to do it. It has been a long time.
