I agree with bcp. I think it was the pontiac 389. One bank used to create the 195 CID 4 banger for the 1962 Tempest. Ford did have a V4 in the early 60's but I think it was derived from the Cologne V6.

It was made by Pontiac. It still laid 0n its side & looked just like a v8 had been cut i 1/2.

Next quetion

A 1, 2 or 4 cylinder engine have a problem that 3 or more cylinders can cure o correct. ?????

I was going to take a WAG at the Pontiac. I vaguely recalled a slant 4.

Might that be a GMC? They made a bunch of large V6's for trucks, from around 300+ to 400+ cu. in.
